Srimangal Police Station has recovered stolen goods from Shashmanghat Kali temple in Srimangal, Moulvibazar and arrested 2 youths involved in the incident.
According to the sources of the Srimangal Police Station, the theft of Ram Ratan Rambania Sarbajanin Shashmanghat Kali temple took place on February 11 in Shahibagh area of Srimangal Sadar Union. The thieves entered the temple by cutting the tin roof above the temple and stole gold ornaments, various items and money kept in the donation box and fled.
In this incident, on February 13, Vijay Deb, a member of the temple management committee, filed a case with the Srimangal Police Station. Officer-in-charge Md. A team of police led by SI Sajeeb Chowdhury, under the direction of Aminul Islam, conducted a raid and arrested Shraban (19), son of Abdul Khalek of Kalighat Road in the city, and Mujibur Rahman (25), son of Samchu Mia of Sonarbangla Road.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aminul Islam said that 3 stolen brass plates and 1255 taka cash were recovered from the confessions of the arrested.
The arrested accused have been sent to jail through the Moulvibazar District Court.
