A human chain has been held to protest the arrest of Saleh Ahmed, a mathematics teacher at Rangpani Captain Rashid School and College in Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet.

This human chain program was organized by the students of Rangpani Captain Rashid School and College at 11 am on Monday (February 17).

The human chain was peacefully observed throughout the college grounds with the participation of all the students of the institution. At this time, teachers of the institution, former members of the governing body, guardians and former students participated in the human chain in agreement with the students.

Nazmul Islam, Shovon Ahmed and Suraiya Akhter spoke on behalf of the students under the chairmanship of Rangpani Captain Rashid School and College (acting) Principal Oliur Rahman Sarkar and under the guidance of Jewel Ahmed, a student of the institution.

Later, among the guardians and local dignitaries who participated in the human chain, businessman Syed Abdun Nur, former chairman Alhaj Alamgir Hossain, headmaster of BIAM Dr. Kudrat Ullah School Abu Sufian Bilal, former educationist member Shafiqul Islam, former member Zahid Mia, local businessman Shahjahan Ahmed spoke.

At that time, the students in the human chain gave an ultimatum to unconditionally release their beloved teacher within 48 hours. Otherwise, the students announced to hold various protest programs including blocking the highway in the presence of all the students of the institution.

In their speeches, the guardians of the teachers in the human chain said that teacher Saleh Ahmed is a victim of false cases and conspiracy. And after a few days, the SSC exam. Now, due to the absence of a mathematics teacher, the examinees are spending their days in extreme anxiety. At that time, they said that teacher Saleh Ahmed is being imprisoned in a false family case filed by Jain Harun Mia of Gowainghat Fatehpur area. They strongly demanded that Harun, who filed the false case, be released immediately and brought to justice.

Also present at the human chain were the institution’s assistant teacher Mostafa Kamal, Pranoy Bhowmik, Mahbub Alam, Nurul Alam, Mohsin Ahmed, Nur Uddin, Ujjal Debnath, Nazrul Islam, all teachers and former students Saifur Rahman, Jewel Ahmed, Nazrul Islam, Shahin Noor, Mahbub and others.
