A young man was killed in a truck accident in Jaintapur, Sylhet. The incident occurred on Monday (February 17) at around 1:30 am in Charikata Union No. 3 of the upazila.
The deceased young man is Kajal Das (22), son of Nirendra Das of Sarukhel village of Charikata Union of Jaintapur Upazila.
According to police and local sources, when Kajal reached Lalakhal Charikata Bazar area on her way home on Monday night, a recklessly speeding truck hit and ran away. Later, she was rescued in a seriously injured condition and taken to Jaintapur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared her dead.
A source from Jaintapur Model Police Station confirmed the truth of this matter. Later, the body was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy. However, the police could not arrest the truck along with the killer.
