A robbery incident occurred at the Beximco Pharmaceutical Company depot in Moulvibazar. The company member was held hostage at gunpoint and 66 lakh taka kept in the depot was looted. While fleeing after the robbery, the robbers opened the hard disk of the CCTV camera in the depot. The police say this incident is mysterious.

The incident took place at around 3 am on Friday (February 21) at around 3 am at the Beximco Pharmaceutical Company depot in Syed Badruzzaman Bhaban in the city’s Banavithi area.

Reza Mia, Deputy Manager of Beximco Company, told The Daily Morning Sun that 7 of our employees were working on the depot set at night. Suddenly, around 3 am, 3 robbers armed with country-made weapons took 13 people, including the doorman, who was outside, hostage. Later, they broke the lock of the depot gate and broke the door of his room on the third floor and tied them up in my room. Later, they broke the iron locker of the office on the second floor with a drill machine and took away 6.6 million taka in cash. At that time, they took away one and a half gold bars of my wife and 12 thousand taka in cash from my room. The robbers took away the hard disk of the CCTV camera when they left.

Moulvibazar District Police Superintendent AKM Jahangir Hussain said that it seems mysterious to us that three people took so many people hostage and committed such a big incident. The matter is being investigated.
