A three-way collision occurred in Sylhet’s South Surma. One person was killed and 4 others were injured.
The accident occurred at a place called Atirbari in the South Surma area of the Sylhet-Dhaka highway on Thursday around 1:30 pm.
The deceased person is Ishaq Ali (46), son of the deceased Abdul Wali of Habra area of Ward No. 6 of Bishwanath Municipality. However, the names of the other injured persons are not known.
Police sources said that a Sylhet-bound pickup truck collided with two motorcycles coming from the opposite direction in the Atirbari area. At that time, another bus hit the pickup van from behind. Five people, including Ishaq Ali, were injured in this. Later, they were rescued by locals and taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Ishak Ali dead.
The incident was confirmed by Dakshin Surma Police Station OC Md. Mizanur Rahman. He said that the condition of one of the injured is critical. The bus, pickup van and two motorcycles involved in the accident are in police custody.
