A BNP leader in Srimangal, Moulvibazar, has been accused of forging the signature of the party’s Secretary General and preparing an invitation letter to attend the extended meeting of the party held in Dhaka. The leaders of the Srimangal Upazila BNP Convening Committee have appealed to the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General to take organizational measures in this incident.

On Sunday (March 2), the joint convener of Srimangal Upazila BNP, Md. Atiqur Rahman Zarif, Khandaker Abul Moin Gofran, members Md. Yakub Ali, Kazi Emdadul Haque, M. A. Qayyum, Md. Mobarak Hossain and some leaders signed the complaint letter sent to BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

It is known from the written complaint sent, that on February 28, 2025, at the extended meeting of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Md. Taj Uddin Taju, as the representative of the Srimangal Upazila BNP, entered the meeting using a pass card by forging the signature of Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Later, when he circulated the forged pass card on social media, it created severe dissatisfaction and confusion among the local BNP leaders and activists. However, the current Srimangal Upazila BNP Convening Committee is active and there is no post called ‘General Secretary’.

A copy was sent in this regard for kind information and for taking necessary organizational measures – Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Sylhet Divisional Organizing Secretary GK Gaus, Co-Organizing Secretary Kalim Uddin Milon, Mifta Siddiqui, District BNP Convener Faizul Karim Mayun and Member Secretary Abdur Rahim Ripon.

Denying the matter of fraud, Md. Taj Uddin Taju told reporters, ‘If the central office asks about the complaint, I will answer.’ He questioned what I have to do if the place where the card was issued made a mistake.

When contacted on mobile phone to inquire about this matter, Moulvibazar District BNP Convener Faizul Karim Mayun did not answer the phone.
