A businessman died after being run over by a train in the outer signal area of Shamshernagar Railway Station in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.
The accident occurred at around 3:30 pm on Tuesday when he was run over by the Sylhet-bound intercity Paharika Express train.
The deceased has been identified as Maharam Ali (55), from Changaon village in Hajipur union of Kulaura upazila. He is a businessman in Pirer Bazar.
Srimangal Railway Police Station (GRP) Sub-Inspector Deepak Roy said that Maharam Ali died after falling under the Sylhet-bound intercity Paharika Express train that left Chittagong in the outer area of Shamshernagar Railway Station on Tuesday (March 4) at around 3:30 pm. The man’s head and body were cut into several pieces after being run over by the train.
The Railway Police recovered his body and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
