On the occasion of the month of Ramadan, Srimangal Association of America (Inc), an organization of Srimangal residents living in America, has distributed food items among more than 650 families.

The food items were handed over to the local representative of the organization at the underground of the city’s Hotel Ichaki Amos on Tuesday (March 4) afternoon.

The program, chaired by the organization’s president Mostaq Elahi Chaman and moderated by journalist Syed Sayed Ahmed, was attended by former Vice Principal of Srimangal Government College Rafi Ahmed Chowdhury, General Secretary of the DUPROC Alhaj Md. Abdur Rouf Talukder, organization advisor Syed Ashraful Islam Fuad, Vice President Jhalak Dutta, Joint General Secretary Imdadul Haque Ipu, Acting President of Srimangal Press Club AFM Abdul Hai Don, senior journalist Kawsar Iqbal and American expatriate Mujibur Rahman Renu. Eminent social workers Md. Abdul Qayyum and Saifu Uddin Liton spoke. The food items were distributed among 650 families worth about 7 lakh taka.
