Sylhet City Corporation has launched a drive to evict hawkers from illegally occupied sidewalks in Sylhet city.
The eviction drive started in front of Surma Market in Bandar Bazar in the city on Wednesday afternoon and ended in front of the city’s Queen Bridge, Bandar Bazar, Zindabazar and Nagar Bhaban.
The drive was led by Sylhet City Corporation’s Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Matiur Rahman Khan.
During this time, in addition to removing goods from shops in front of various markets from the sidewalks, goods from floating shops on the sidewalks and roadsides were seized.
