Police have arrested a youth named Rajen Roy (24) on rape charges in Baralekha of Moulvibazar district.
On Friday (March 14) afternoon, Rajen Roy was arrested on rape charges in a special operation by Baralekha Police Station in New Samanbagh Tea Garden in Baralekha.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baralekha Police Station Abul Kashem Sarkar said that they received a report that a young woman (21) from New Samanbagh Tea Garden was forcibly raped on March 13. Based on that, the accused Rajen Roy was arrested today. Legal action is under process in this regard.
Superintendent of Police M,K,H,Jahangir Hossain PPM said, ‘The Moulvibazar District Police has adopted a zero tolerance policy against any sexual harassment or violence against women. No concession will be given to those who abuse women and children.
