An uncle was stabbed to death by his nephew in Dhopaghatpur village of Banshikunda South Union in Madhyanagar Upazila of Sunamganj district.
The incident took place at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday. The deceased, Abdul Gani (45), is the son of the deceased Abdur Rashid of Dhopaghatpur village of Banshikunda South Union.
The deceased’s son, Khairul Islam, said that at around 5 pm on Wednesday, his father Abdul Gani and his cousins Sohel (30) and Rubel Mia (25) had an argument over filling the road in front of their house in Dhopaghatpur village. At one point, Rubel and Sohel got agitated and stabbed his father Gani in the neck and hand with a sharp knife. Later, local residents rescued his father Gani and took him to the nearby Kalmakanda Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared his father Gani dead.
The truth of this matter has been confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhyanagar Police Station, Md. Sajeeb Rahman.
