21 Bangladeshis died in Saudi while performing Hajj

So far 21 Bangladeshis have died in Saudi while performing Hajj. Earlier, 18 pilgrims died during Hajj this year. Three more Bangladeshi pilgrims have died in the last two days. A total of 21 Bangladeshi pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia.

This information is known from the daily bulletin of the IT helpdesk on Hajj portal on Wednesday. The Ministry of Religion has informed that the return flight will start from Thursday after Hajj.

Among the pilgrims who died, 18 were men and three were women. Among them, 16 died in Makkah, four in Madinah and one in Mina.

Of the four who died after the commencement of Hajj, one has been identified. His name is Md. Alamgir Hossain Khan (73), died on June 16 in Mina. The names and identities of the remaining three are not yet known.

According to Hajj Desk, two people died in Saudi on Wednesday, June 12, before the start of Hajj ceremonies. They are – Md. Shah Alam (77) and Sufia Khatun (62). Their homes are Comilla and Kishoreganj respectively. In the current Hajj season, he became the first Bangladeshi in Saudi Arabia on May 15. A pilgrim named Asaduzzaman died.

The other pilgrims who died are – Kendua upazila of Netrakona district. Asaduzzaman (57), Md. Bhola district. Mostafa (90), Lutfar Rahman (65) of Kurigram District, Murtajur Rahman (63) of Nawabganj, Dhaka District, Mohammad Idris (64) of Raujan Upazila, Chittagong District, Mohammad Shahjahan (48) of Dhaka District, Ali Imam Bhuiya (65) of Comilla District, Cox’s Bazar. District Maheshkhali Upazila. Jamal Uddin (69), Mohammad Nurul Alam (61) of Ramu Upazila in Cox’s Bazar District, Maksud Ahmad (61) of Chakaria Upazila in Cox’s Bazar District, Mamtaz Begum (63) of Faridpur District, Ariful Islam (57) resident of Rampura, Dhaka, Md. Gobindpur Upazila of Gaibandha District. Solaiman (73), Shahzad Ali (55) of Mithapukur Upazila in Rangpur and Golam Quddus (54) of Taraganj in Rangpur.

According to Saudi Arabian law, if a person dies while performing Hajj, his body is buried in Saudi Arabia. It is not allowed to bring it to your country. Even family objections are not entertained. When a pilgrim dies in Makkah, a janaza is held in Masjid al-Haram.
