A mobile court has fined 1 lakh 50 thousand taka to 2 sand traders for illegal sand mining in Srimangal, Moulvibazar.
On Wednesday (April 23), a mobile court conducted by Assistant Commissioner Land (AC Land) and Executive Magistrate Mehmad Yusuf fined sand trader Haji Md. Makhon Miah 1 lakh taka for illegal sand mining from non-scheduled Mouza 4/25 of Langliachhara Balu Mahal of the upazila and Md. Alam Miah 50 thousand taka for cutting soil from agricultural land.
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Yusuf said that a fine of 1.5 lakh taka has been imposed in two cases under the Sand and Soil Cutting Management Act 2010. In addition, sand extracted illegally by the lessee was seized with a bond.
