The joint forces have arrested local terrorist Chan Mia along with weapons in connection with the attack on a madrasa and the members of the committee in Sherpur, Moulvibazar following a dispute with members of the madrasa committee.
On Thursday (April 24), a team of police and army conducted a raid on Chan Mia’s residence in the Sherpur residential area at noon. Chan Mia (50) was arrested during this time.
According to local sources, Md. Chan Mia’s gang had an argument with the Jamiatul Falah Sherpur Madrasa authorities. At one stage, they attacked the madrasa. On receiving the information, the police and army reached the spot and arrested Md. Chan Mia. After the arrest, the members of the joint forces searched Chan Mia’s house and recovered several weapons.
