A complaint has been received about an attack on SSC examinees and their families in Jaintapur, Sylhet. Three people, including an SSC examinee, were seriously injured in the attack due to a dispute over land on the road.

The attack took place in Hemu Haudpara village of Fatepur Union No. 5 of the upazila last Thursday. It is said that the attackers vandalized the houses and looted the furniture. The injured in the attack are undergoing treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The injured are – Acia Begum (49), wife of Md. Lutfur, a resident of Hemu Haudpara village of Fatepur Union No. 5, his daughter Monira Akhter (16), a student of Haripur Bahumukhi High School and an ongoing 2025 SSC examinee, and Sakera Begum (14), a ninth-grade student of Haripur Bahumukhi High School. A complaint was filed with the police station on Friday in this regard.

The OC of Jaintapur Model Police Station said, “We, the police, went to the spot after receiving a complaint of a fight last night. The matter will be investigated and action will be taken.”
