A Dubai expatriate family is in extreme trouble after filing a case in Jaintapur, Sylhet. The defendants are continuing to threaten and threaten to kill them to withdraw the case. They have even continued to threaten the witnesses in the case. This has left the expatriate family suffering from extreme insecurity.

It is learned that the expatriate family of Nur Mia of Shukainpur village of Darvast union No. 4 of Jaintapur upazila was in a dispute with Shamsur Uddin Gang of the same village over the boundary of the house. In that situation, on May 22, around 10 am, the defendants entered the expatriate’s house in a pre-planned manner and beat up Nur Mia’s wife Hawarun Nesa, causing serious injuries. Later, locals rescued him in a seriously injured condition and took him to Jaintapur Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there sent him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital as his condition was critical. He is currently undergoing treatment at Osmani Hospital.

When Kalam Ahmed (25), son of the elderly mother Hawarun Nesa, filed a case with Jaintapur Model Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident, the defendants became even more angry. Currently, the defendants have continued to threaten the plaintiff and his family members, including witnesses, in various ways to withdraw the case. He and his family are suffering from extreme insecurity.

The defendants in the case are Shamsur Uddin (55), son of the deceased Yakub Ali of the same village, Lokman Ahmed (25), son of the deceased Jamir Ali, Rahim Uddin (28), son of Kuti Mia, Shamim Ahmed (32), son of Shamsur Uddin, Faruk Ahmed (38), son of the deceased Isub Ali, and Jahangir Ahmed (22), son of Alim Uddin. So far, the police have not been able to arrest any of them.

Admitting the truth of this matter, the plaintiff in the case, Kalam, told the reporter that the defendants are threatening to withdraw the case and trying to kill the witnesses. He informed the local people about this. At that time, he said in a tearful voice, “I have a brother who lives in Dubai. I run a small poultry shop in Haripur Bazar. My elderly father always supports me. My elderly mother takes care of my house alone. On the day of the incident, my mother was home alone.” The defendants are trying to drive us out and take over the house and its ancillary properties. He said that they have also taken away the 60000/(sixty thousand) taka that was kept in the house to buy cows for Eid. That is why no more cows were bought this year. At this time, he sought the attention of the administration in getting justice.

When contacted on mobile phone, SI Bidyudha of Jaintapur Model Police Station to inquire about this matter, he said that the operation to arrest the accused is continuing.
