Sylhet District BNP President and public figure Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury has said that the upcoming national parliamentary election is not just a competition for seat sharing or coming to power – this election is an election to restore democracy in Bangladesh, an election to restore people’s rights.

He said, “Sylhet, the stronghold of BNP, will ensure the victory of the paddy sheaf symbol by being more integrated and united in the upcoming election. The response and expectations that the people are showing towards the paddy sheaf are inspiring us. Sylhet will make the greatest contribution to building the country through the expected transparency under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.”

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting organized by the Union BNP at a hotel auditorium in Lalabazar on Thursday (October 2) at 8 pm.

He further said, “Lalabazar Union is one of the most important foundations of our movement. If the leaders and activists here remain united, then we will take another step forward on the path of victory in the upcoming elections. We have to go door to door to listen to the people’s sorrows and hardships and promote the BNP’s 31-point reform program. Only then will the people choose BNP.”

Addressing the leaders and activists, he called upon them, “We must maintain our loyalty to the party. We must forget our personal differences and enter the field unitedly. We must convey the message of BNP to every house from village to city, from market to market.”

The meeting was presided over by Lalabazar Union BNP Vice President Abdul Haque and moderated by General Secretary Aminur Rahman Chowdhury Sifta.

The main speaker was District BNP Advisor Falakuzzaman Chowdhury Jaglu. District BNP Joint Office Secretary Mahbub Alam, Joint Campaign Secretary Shahin Alam Joy, former Union BNP convener Zahir Ali, Jilal Khan, Alauddin, Advocate Mahbubur Rahman, Shamsher Khan, Ansar Ahmed, Jubo Dal leaders Abdul Basit Moktadir and Delwar Ahmed, Chhatra Dal leaders Abdul Mozakkir Fahim and Mohan Ahmed, and local leaders were present as special guests.
