Tarique Rahman responds to fierce criticism over ‘ticket to heaven’

Special Correspondent //
The issue of guaranteeing ‘ticket to heaven’ to grassroots politicians of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami ahead of the 13th National Parliament elections has been coming to the fore for a few days. There is fierce criticism about this. This time, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has called the issue a kind of fraud. However, he did not mention the name of Jamaat. He said that they are cheating people by selling these tickets.

He said these things at the first election rally of BNP organized at the government Alia Madrasa ground in Sylhet on Thursday (January 22) afternoon. Tarique Rahman has started his election journey through this rally.

There, he said, ‘Who is the owner of heaven? Allah. Who is the owner of hell? Allah. Allah is the owner of the Kaaba, Allah is also the owner of this world. You have given witness. What Allah owns, does anyone else have the power to give? No! Before the elections, a party is saying this god and that god, saying they will give tickets. If they talk about giving something that is not owned by humans, then it is shirk, Allah has the right over everything. They are already cheating you, after the elections, how will they cheat you now? Not only are they cheating, they are making Muslims commit shirk, Nauzubillah.’

Tareque Rahman also questioned the role of that political party in the 1971 Liberation War. He said, ‘Dear brothers and sisters, some say, we have seen this and that, now look at this. In 1971, our beloved motherland was liberated at the cost of millions of lives. We have seen the role of many during the liberation of that motherland. The people of this country have seen and accepted those whose role has led to the martyrdom of millions of brothers in this country, the honor of millions of mothers and sisters in this country has been damaged!’

He further added, ‘We have to unite against this kufr, against this stubbornness, against this lie. We have to stay in Take Back Bangladesh. We have freed the country from tyranny. Now we have to establish human rights, not just the right to speak. We have to make arrangements for people to become self-reliant and stand on their own feet. We have to make arrangements so that every person in Bangladesh can eat well and live. We have to make arrangements so that every person can walk safely on the streets. That is what Take Back Bangladesh is. We have seen in the past 15 years, we have come to tell so and so to keep so and so in power. That is why I am saying, not Delhi, we have seen who those who were in 1971, who they aligned with. Those whom I mentioned a little earlier, those who lie to the people, we have seen where their hideouts are. That is why I am saying, just like not Delhi, not Pindi, not any other country, Bangladesh first and foremost.’
