Calling for votes for the 10-party alliance, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said, “You should vote for the 10-party alliance. Send us to parliament so that we can form the government. We promise, not only will the life of the river return, but the vitality of the people will also return, God willing.”

Mentioning that the four main rivers of Bangladesh have been killed, he said, “Didn’t these rivers have any parents? Then why did our rivers die? They come once every five years, and for the remaining four and a half years, they are burned by hurricanes and cannot be found. Some people start calling Aisa Kuhu Kuhu like the spring cuckoo in spring.” He said this at an election rally organized by the district Jamaat-e-Islami at the sugar mill ground in Panchagarh on Friday afternoon.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Iqbal Hussain presided over the public meeting, where Jamaat’s Central Assistant Secretary General Abdul Halim, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) spokesperson Rashed Pradhan, Panchagarh-1 constituency candidate Sarjis Alam, Panchagarh-2 constituency candidate Shafiul Alam and leaders of 10 parties at various levels spoke.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “I want to say with trust in Almighty Allah that five years will be enough to change the face of North Bengal. If we work shoulder to shoulder, then the face of North Bengal will change, God willing. The soil of this area is fertile. There is no question of this area being backward. It has been kept behind by conspiring, depriving, and conspiring.”

Not only in Panchagarh, but also in 64 districts of Bangladesh, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “We will bring out the lakhs and crores of rupees that have been stolen abroad by putting our hands inside their stomachs, God willing. In the future, no one will be allowed to steal again. I believe that today’s public meeting includes members of the martyred families, the July 24 fighters, and the heroes of 1971. We are indebted to all of you. We will honor you with all our might. If we get the opportunity to serve the country, if we get the opportunity to form the government, we will try to repay your debt, God willing.”

Before ending his speech, Shafiqur Rahman handed over the Shapla Kali symbol to Sarjis Alam, the NCP’s northern chief organizer for the 10-party alliance candidate for Panchagarh-1 constituency, and the Scales symbol to Shafiul Alam, the 10-party alliance candidate for Panchagarh-2 constituency.
