In a separate operation of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in the border area of Sunamganj district, goods and animals worth about one and a half million rupees have been seized. This information was informed in a BGB press release on Wednesday (September 25).
48 BGB’s press release said that these products were seized during raids on Tuesday (September 24) from afternoon to night.
An anti-smuggling operation was conducted in the border areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj under the leadership of 48 BGB Deputy Commander Major Mahmudul Hasan. 16 Indian buffaloes from Terapur bordering Sunamganj’s Chatak Upazila, 8000 kg of Bangladeshi betel nut, 420 kg of local garlic from Kalaura and worth 1 crore 19 lakh 43 thousand 982 rupees were seized.
Seized stolen goods have been submitted to customs for sale at auction said Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) captain Lt. Colonel Md. Hafizur Rahman.
