The hanging body of a young man was recovered from the tourist Jaflong area of ​​Sylhet’s Gowainghat upazila. On Wednesday (October 2) morning, the police recovered the body of the deceased from Jaflong Ban Bit Rahmatpur area.

The deceased is Mujibur Rahman, son of Ashu Mia of Pathartila village of East Jaflong union of the upazila.

According to police and local sources, Mujeeb left home on Tuesday afternoon and did not return home at night. On Wednesday morning, local people found his body hanging from a tree and informed the police station. Later, SI Fakhrul Islam of Gowainghat police station went to the spot, recovered the body, prepared a preliminary report and sent it to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

Confirming the matter, Gowainghat police station OC Sarkar Tofail Ahmed said that it is initially thought that he may have committed suicide. A case of wrongful death has been registered in the police station. However, further investigation and post-mortem report will reveal the main mystery of the death, he said.
