The Immigration Police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested Rustom Khandkar, General Secretary of Narayanganj’s Fatulla Union Volunteer League, while fleeing to India through Benapole.

He was detained from Benapole Immigration at around 11 am on Thursday.

Rustom Khandkar is the son of Tara Khandkar of Lalpur village of Fatulla police station of Narayanganj district. He is accused in a murder case of Fatulla police station of Khandkar Narayanganj. On August 29, a case was filed in the police station on the charge of shooting and killing in the students’ movement.

According to immigration police sources, Rustam Khandkar entered the Benapole immigration building this morning to escape to India. At that time, the immigration police got suspicious after seeing his movements. At one stage of interrogation, they came to know that Rustam Khandkar is the general secretary of Narayanganj’s Fatulla Union Volunteer League and he is accused number 171 of the Adil murder case at Fatulla police station. At that time he was arrested and handed over to Benapole port police.

Benapole Checkpost Immigration Police Inspector Omar Farooq Majumdar said that if he saw Rustom Khandkar as a high-profile (important) person at the immigration, he searched by writing his name and address on Google. Then you can know his political identity. After contacting the Fatulla Police Station of Narayanganj, it is known that he is the accused in the Adil murder case on the charge of shooting to death during the student movement. He was then arrested and handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. Later he will be handed over to Fatulla police station of Narayanganj.
