Various types of stolen goods including motorcycles, sugar, wood and drugs have been seized from some border areas of Sylhet’s Kanighat and Jaintapur.
BGB raided from Wednesday to Friday (October 16 to 18) and seized these products.
BGB-19 said in a press release that on Friday (October 18) around 3:30 am, a patrol team of their Sonarkhor BOP.
495 bottles of Indian Fensidil were seized from a place called Mikirpara in the border area of Kanighat upazila of Sylhet district. The market value of these is approximately 1 lakh 98 thousand taka.
A patrol team of Jaintapur BOP conducted an operation in the border area of the upazila around 10 am on Friday and seized 4 thousand 280 Indian glasses from a place called Changil. The market price of these is approximately 12 lakh 84 thousand taka.
Earlier on Thursday (October 17) around 3:30 am, a team of Sonarkhor BOP conducted a raid at a place called Vallukmara near the border zero line of Kanighat upazila and seized 1 Indian Yamaha (R-15) motorcycle without its owner. The market price of which is 5 lakh 60 thousand taka.
On the same day at around 5 am, a team of Lovachara BOP seized 20 feet of Indian wood without its owner from a place called Bagan Bazar near the zero line of border of Kanighat upazila. The price of which is 30 thousand rupees.
Besides, on Wednesday (October 16) around 7 am, a patrol team of Jaintapur BOP conducted a raid at a place called Changil near the zero line of the upazila border and seized 2 thousand 250 kg of Indian sugar and 1 DI pickup without owner. The price of these is 13 lakh 37 thousand 500 taka. The total value of seized goods is 34 lakh 9 thousand 500 taka. BGB deposited the seized goods in the nearest customs warehouse.
