Kalnagini snake rescued from Srimangal school

A Kalnagini snake has been rescued from a primary school in Srimangal, Moulvibazar.

On Sunday (October 3) afternoon, the students of Chatoli Tea Garden Government Primary School in Srimangal upazila were terrified after seeing a Kalnagini snake. Later, after receiving information through the school’s headmaster Bijoy Nunia, Swapan Dev Sajal, director of the Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation in Srimangal, rescued the snake.

Swapan Dev Sajal said that the snake rescued from the school is a Kalnagini. It is a non-venomous species of snake. After the snake was rescued, it was handed over to the forest department authorities in Srimangal.
