A huge procession was held in Srimangal, Moulvibazar, on the occasion of BNP’s workers’ meeting and National Revolution and Solidarity Day. Haji Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury, executive member of the central BNP, joined a workers’ meeting at Srimangal Star Community Center yesterday, Saturday afternoon. At that time, he said that the Awami League government swallowed democracy. We were not even allowed to hold a procession meeting. It was our democratic right to hold a procession meeting. They took away this right with their power. He said that when they got news of any of our meetings, people flocked to them. Fearing this, the police would block them. Even then, we held procession meetings. And those who came to these processions would later be arrested by the police by filing cases. This is the proof of the crowds that we hold now. He said that we held a rally in Kamalganj and there were four more people from the pandal outside the pandal. At that time, he said, a huge public meeting will be organized in Srimangal soon. A sea of people will also flow in the Srimangal meeting. Also present at that time were Srimangal Upazila BNP President Nurul Alam Siddiqui, General Secretary Taj Uddin Taju, former Municipal BNP President Muchhabbir Ali Munna, Upazila Jubo Dal convener Mohi Uddin Jharu, Abdul Muhit Kadar, Jubo Dal leader Titu Ahmed, Hafizur Rahman Tuhin and Swechchhasebak Dal leader Belal Ahmed, along with leaders of various organiza- tions of the party.
