Sylhet’s controversial police officer Azbahar Ali Sheikh has been transferred. Azbahar, who was promoted as Additional DIG, was serving as Deputy Commissioner (North) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police till now. He was accused of using excessive force to suppress the student movement demanding quota reform. Also three more officers of Sylhet Metropolitan Police have been transferred.

Azbahar Ali has been attached as Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Police Commissioner’s Office on Saturday. On the other hand, Moha working as Deputy Police Commissioner (South). Sohail Reza has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner (North).

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner said on Saturday. This information is known in an office order signed by Zakir Hossain Khan.

Meanwhile, in another office order signed by the Commissioner of Police, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sylhet Katwali Police Station, Mohammad Moin Uddin, has been transferred and attached to the Police Lines. And the duty of the officer in charge of Katwali police station has been given to Mohammad Nunu Mia, who is in charge of the airport police station.
