A truck loaded with sand has been seized in a joint operation by the Jaintapur Upazila Administration and the Task Force. At that time, the people involved in the sand extraction work fled after abandoning the barque boat and empty truck in the Sari River-3 area on the news of the raid.

On Thursday (November 14), at around 1 am, Jaintapur Upazila Executive Officer Umme Salik Rumaiya came to the Lalakhal point of the Sari River for an operation. At that time, a truck (Sylhet Metro-Dr-11-0062) was seized while loading sand while lifting sand in the Sari-3 area late at night, violating the ban.

At that time, several other trucks were waiting to lift sand in the sand field.

Also present in the task force operation were Jaintapur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ms Farzana Akhter Laboni, Border Guard Bangladesh, BGB members of Lalakhal BOP under Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB) and police force of Jaintapur Model Police Station.

In this regard, Jaintapur Upazila Executive Officer Umme Salik Rumaiya said that despite repeated operations and monitoring, a malicious group has been extracting sand. After receiving information, the truck along with the sand was seized late at night. Along with this, the information numbers of the trucks that were waiting to load the sand have been collected and brought. He confirmed that such operations will be conducted regularly.
