Jamir Uddin, a college student from Srimangal, has achieved success in starting a chicken farm of the Egyptian Fawmi breed in Srimangal, Moulvibazar. He is a 2nd year honors student of Moulvibazar Government College and a 2nd year student of Srimangal Anwarul Ulum Fazil Degree Madrasa.

He is a resident of Khoshbas village in Ashidron Union of Srimangal Upazila. His father is a farmer. Jamir Uddin is the eldest of 5 brothers. His desire was to become an entrepreneur after completing his education. To fulfill that goal and to meet his education expenses, he started a grocery business by renting a shop in the village. Along with the grocery business, he started a chicken farm towards the end of 2023 to realize his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. First, he established Latifia Faumi Farm with 2100 Egyptian Faumi chickens. Gradually, the number of chickens increased. Now, his farm has 3,500 Egyptian Faumi chickens.

According to the Upazila Livestock Office, there are a total of 917 poultry farms, including cattle. Of these, there are 182 broiler chicken farms, 15 golden chicken farms, 1 Egyptian Faumi chicken farm, and 26 Liar chicken farms. Entrepreneur Zamir Uddin said, “I wanted to do something independently without pursuing a job after studying. I did not want to work under someone else. I wanted to be an entrepreneur. After much thought, I decided to open an Egyptian Faumi chicken farm. The beginning of which was not easy. A lot of money is needed to run a farm. Which I did not have. But I did not lose my morale. I was thinking of starting a business with Egyptian Foumi breed chickens by taking a loan. So I did. First, I collected some chickens and started the business.
Currently, by the infinite grace of Allah, my farm is running well. This entrepreneur also said, I am happy to work for the people of the country instead of being a burden for the country.

Srimangal Upazila Livestock Officer (Acting) Dr. Sabina Yasmin told The Daily Morning Sun, we are very happy with the success of Latifia Farm. This livestock officer has advised unemployed youth to become entrepreneurs like Zamir Uddin instead of wandering around looking for jobs. Many people come from far and wide to take his advice every day to become entrepreneurs like Zamir Uddin.
