Jaflong husband murder case: Alleged lover and accomplices sentenced to death

A court has issued a death sentence for the alleged lover and his accomplices in the husband murder case in Jaflong, a tourist area of ​​Sylhet. This order was issued on Thursday (November 28) morning by Judge Shayla Sharmin of Additional District and Sessions Judge 4 of Sylhet. Judge Md. Kabir Hossain of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court 4 of Sylhet was present as a bench assistant.

The convicts are Khushnahar (22), Mahmudul Hasan (22) and Nadim Ahmed Naim (19). The truth of this matter was confirmed by the court’s Additional PP lawyer Md. Jalal Uddin.

According to police and court sources, the body of a tourist named Al Imran was found in the drain of Riverview Hotel in Gowainghat on April 16, 2023. The police later recovered the body. His wife Khushnahar Begum fled after the incident.

The police also said that a young man named Mahmudul Hasan had an extramarital affair with the wife of the deceased. As a result, they suffocated Al Imran by giving him sleeping pills.

The deceased Al Imran is the son of Abdul Jabbar of Nikli’s Gurai Union in Kishoreganj. At that time, he and his wife were visiting Jaflong in Sylhet and stayed at the local Riverview Residential Hotel. Later, the father of the deceased filed a murder case with Gowainghat Police Station as the plaintiff in the incident. The police were also able to arrest the alleged lover Mahmudul Hason and his associate Nadim.

PP Advocate Jalal Uddin was present in the accused’s court during the verdict. Another accused involved in the murder, Abdur Rakib, is being tried in the children’s court as he is a minor. We are satisfied with the verdict.
