District Police Superintendent MKH Jahangir Hossain held a meeting with religious and political leaders in Moulvibazar.
Yesterday, Monday morning, Hindu and Muslim leaders of the district and leaders of various political parties participated in the conference room of the Moulvibazar Police Superintendent’s office.
District Police Superintendent MKH Jahangir Hossain presided over the meeting. During this, the Police Superintendent said in his speech that spreading truth against false information is the biggest protest. We must protest against rumors spread through social media by spreading correct information. He said, we Hindus and Muslims are all citizens of one Bangladesh. We do not want to use the word minority. All political parties and religious leaders must work from their respective platforms to protect communal harmony and the sovereignty of the country.
He called on everyone to work together to prevent false information and rumors on various social media platforms, including Facebook, focusing on religious issues in recent times.
Hindu and Muslim leaders of Moulvibazar district and leaders of various political parties participated in the exchange of views.
The speakers at the meeting expressed their views on monitoring social media and taking legal action against those spreading false information. They informed that this negative activity is a conspiracy against the country.
The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Sudarshan Kumar Roy (promoted to the post of Police Superintendent), Additional Superintendent of Police Mohsin, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Ajmal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station Gazi Mahbubur Rahman, as well as leaders of Moulvibazar District BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Hefazat-e-Islam, Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front, National Imam Samity, Puja Udja Parishad, Khelafat-e-Majlish and other political parties.
