Two motorcyclists were killed in a collision with a pickup van in Rajnagar, Moulvibazar. One person was injured.
The accident occurred on Monday (December 2) night near the Masharia Madrasa on the Rajnagar-Fenchuganj regional highway.
The deceased were Sakin Ahmed (19) of Haldigul village in Uttarbhag union of Rajnagar and Rafi Ahmed (21) of Suprakandi village. The injured Raju Dhar (18) is the son of Manju Dhar of Khalagaon village.
It is learned that the three people left for Moulvibazar on a motorcycle from their area. They collided head-on with a pickup van going from Rajnagar to Fenchuganj in the Mashuria area of the Rajnagar-Fenchuganj regional highway. Two people were killed on the spot. The police recovered the motorcycle and pickup van and took them to the police station. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Moulvibazar 250-bed General Hospital for autopsy.
Rajnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Mohammad Mubashir said, “Two people died on the spot. We have recovered the pickup van and the motorcycle. The pickup driver is absconding.”
