An unidentified person has died after being run over by a train in South Surma, Sylhet. The accident occurred on the railway line in front of the Pragati CNG filling station under Moglabazar police station in South Surma upazila at around 6 am on Saturday (December 7). The deceased is estimated to be 40 years old.
Later, upon receiving information about the incident, the Sylhet Railway Police reached the spot, recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue.
Sylhet Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdul Quddus said – the man was mentally unstable. The police and CID team are working to identify the body. An autopsy will be conducted on the body. The body will be handed over to the family if it is found.
