Three drug dealers were arrested with nearly 7 kg of marijuana in a drive by Shamshernagar outpost police in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.
On Tuesday (December 10), during a checkpost at Sarishtala Bazar on Shamshernagar to Brahmanbazar Road, the outpost police searched a CNG-powered autorickshaw and arrested three people with 6 kg 700 grams of marijuana.
The arrested are Anil Khadia (30), Rajen Khadia (24) of Khejurichara Tea Garden in Srimangal Upazila of Moulvibazar district, and Phul Mia (55) of Sirajnagar village.
Shamshernagar police outpost in-charge Md. Omar Faruk said, “Based on information that a consignment of drugs was going from Srimangal to Brahmanbazar in Kulaura, a check post was conducted and three people were arrested along with ganja. At that time, a CNG-powered autorickshaw was seized for carrying drugs. A case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed against the arrested persons and they were sent to jail through the Moulvibazar District Magistrate’s Court.”
