A mentally unstable elderly man has died after being hit by a train in Madhabpur, Habiganj. The man, named Ashraf Uddin (50), died after being hit by an unidentified train at Garibullah Shahar Mazar in Shialuri village of Dharmaghar union of Madhabpur upazila of Akhaura Sylhet section of the railway sometime on Wednesday (December 11).
On receiving the information, a police team led by SI Rakibul Islam, in-charge of Shayestaganj Railway Police Station, reached the spot, recovered the body and handed it over to the family.
According to family and local sources, Ashraf Uddin was mentally unstable.
