Chief advisor. Muhammad Yunus addressed foreign diplomats at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka on Sunday.
The chief advisor of the interim government commented that all institutions of the country have been destroyed due to the dictatorial attitude of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Muhammad Yunus. Elections will be held after necessary reforms of the destroyed Election Commission, Judiciary, Civil Administration, Security Agencies and Media, promising to build a new country. Muhammad Yunus also commented that this election will be neutral, fair and participatory.
He made this comment during the briefing of ambassadors and heads of missions of different countries at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Sunday afternoon. At the end of the briefing of the diplomats, the press secretary of the chief adviser Shafiqul Alam said these things with reference to Muhammad Yunus. On this occasion, Director General of Public Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sehli Sabreen and Deputy Press Secretary Apoorba Jahangir were present.
The chief adviser pointed out that the top priority of the interim government is to bring the law and order situation under control. Armed forces will continue to operate in support of civilian forces until the situation is confirmed. Interim government committed to ensure security of all religious and ethnic groups.
The press secretary told the present journalists that the chief adviser told the diplomats that everything in the country is over due to corruption. Judiciary is broken, democratic rights have been undermined for a long time, elections have been rigged. A young society grew up disenfranchised. Politically influenced bank robberies. It will take time to fix. Hopefully, everyone will be with us in creating a new Bangladesh.
He was overcome with grief while narrating the incident of death of the youth in the attack stating that law enforcement forces and the government’s student organization had attacked the students during the student movement during the Bifring period.
Muhammad Yunus said that the students are committed to the freedom of the common people. Hundreds of people died, thousands were injured. I hope you can help us. Many students sustained bullet injuries, many with rubber bullets in their eyes.
The Chief Adviser said, I respect the youth who have sacrificed themselves for the country. They have sacrificed themselves for democratic expression. The young society wants a non-discriminatory, friendly country.
Diplomats. Yunus said that the main task of the interim government is to restore peace to the society by the law and order forces on a priority basis. Hundreds of people died in the student movement. Many students were shot in the eye, I went to see them. We don’t know what will happen to them. No other country in the world has had to sacrifice so much. Nowhere in the world have citizens been so deprived of human rights.
Dr. Yunus said, we are grateful to the friendly countries of Bangladesh, they helped us during the crisis. Going through a challenging time right now. It has been two weeks since the second revolution in Bangladesh. Thousands of people have formed resistance against dictator Sheikh Hasina. He fled the country.
The UN will investigate the killings centered around the anti-discrimination movement of students. The Interim Chief Minister welcomed it and said, “We want what has been done with the students to be accepted and there will be an investigation without resorting to bias.” In this regard, Bangladesh government will give full support to the United Nations.
The press secretary of the Chief Adviser said that more than 50 diplomats from various countries and organizations including India, the United States, and the United Nations were present in the briefing. Journalists want to know whether diplomats have asked any questions. In response, the press secretary said, the question was not answered. He asked for support. He asked for full support in rebuilding Bangladesh.
Dr. Yunus said, students will try to do what Bangladesh wants. A Bangladesh where there will be democratic system, freedom of speech and human rights. At the same time, he highlighted the issue of providing security to minorities.
The press secretary said that the chief adviser said that all the international agreements Bangladesh has made, all the legal obligations it has will be fulfilled. On the Rohingya issue, the United Nations, global agencies and other partners have been requested to continue providing financial support to the Rohingya. In the economic field they are now emphasizing on ensuring macroeconomic stability.

Briefing foreign diplomats at the Rashtriya Guest House Padma that day, the Foreign Affairs Adviser highlighted the context, objectives of the interim government coming to power, the need for international community cooperation on bilateral and multilateral issues.
