A discussion meeting was held with the tea garden authorities to implement the Aloy Alo Project-2 in Srimangal, Moulvibazar, with the aim of increasing learning opportunities for children, adolescents and women and increasing livelihood options for women.

On Monday (December 23), at the Bar Conference Hall of the Grand Sultan Tea Resort and Golf in Srimangal, the discussion meeting was held under the initiative of the Aloy Alo Project of the Institute of Development Affairs (IDEA) and with the overall support of Child Fund Korea and Educo Bangladesh. Finlay Tea Company Chief Operating Officer Tahsin Ahmed Chowdhury spoke as the chief guest.

Mohammad Mahbubul Hasan, Deputy Inspector General of the Srimangal office of the Department of Factories and Establishments Inspection, presided over the discussion meeting and delivered important speeches on various issues. At this time, Bangladesh Tea Society Sylhet Branch Chairman and Finley Tea Company’s Deputy General Manager of Bharaura Division Golam Mohammad Shibli, District Child Affairs Officer Mohammad Jasim Uddin spoke as special guests. At the meeting, the speakers spoke on various issues including ensuring good education for children and adolescents, nutritious food, provision of safe drinking water, clean living, creating a decent working environment for women at work, sanitation system and improving the quality of life of children, adolescents and women. At this time, officials at different levels of the government, managers of various tea gardens and officials at different levels working in the Aloy Alo project Moulvibazar district were present.
