A worker died while cutting trees in Jaintapur, Sylhet. The incident occurred on Monday (December 23) at around 3 pm in Darvast Ranifaud village of the upazila.
The deceased has been identified as Ali Ahmed, son of Maqbul Ali of Balidara village of Darvast union.
It is learnt that he was cutting trees at the house of a man named Al Amin of Darvast Ranifaud village on Monday afternoon. At that time, he tried to come down from a tree and accidentally fell to the ground. Later, locals rescued him and took him to Jaintapur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead.
Dr. Hillol Saha, a doctor at the emergency department of Jaintapur Upazila Health Complex, said that the worker died before being brought to the hospital.
