The house of two brothers and all the furniture in the house have been destroyed in a fire caused by a gas cylinder leakage in Srimangal, Moulvibazar. The Upazila Administration and former Mayor of Srimangal Municipality, BNP leader Md. Mohsin Mia Madhu, have stood by the affected family in this incident.

The fire broke out in the house of former army member Nripesh Chandra Dev and his brother Nibaran Dev near Srimangal Sadar Union on Monday night. On receiving immediate information, the Srimangal Fire Service went to control the fire. Before this, all the belongings of the house including cows, goats, ducks and roosters in the house of the two families were burnt to ashes.

On Tuesday morning, Srimangal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Islam Uddin and former mayor of Srimangal Municipality and member of the district BNP convening committee Md. Mohsin Mia Madhu visited the houses of the victims.

During this time, he spoke to the victims Nripesh Chandra Dev and his brother Nibaran Chandra Dev and expressed his condolences to them. In addition, the two victims were provided with financial assistance and winter clothes by the upazila administration.
After the inspection, former mayor Mohsin Mia assured the Madhu families of cooperation in building houses.
In this, the two brothers affected by the fire expressed their gratitude to the upazila administration and the former mayor.

During the inspection, district Jubo Dal vice-president Kazi Abdul Gafur, Jubo Dal leader and social worker Abdur Rahman Khan Pasha, Chhatra Dal leader Shipu Ahmed and others were present.
