A motorcycle rider has died in a road accident on the Sylhet Tamabil Highway.

The incident took place at around 11:30 pm on Monday (January 27) at a place called Umanpur adjacent to Chiknagul Union.

The deceased motorcycle rider is Dulal Ahmed (45), the younger son of the deceased Khalilur Rahman alias Mara Driver, a resident of Haripur village in Ward No. 8 of Fatehpur U/P No. 5. He was a very well-known face in the local area. He had been driving Noah’s car for a long time. The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the local area.

It is learnt that Dulal was returning to his home in Haripur on his used Pulsar motorcycle after finishing work on Monday night. At one stage, when he reached the area adjacent to Umanpur Training, he met with an accident. Later, locals rescued him in a seriously injured condition and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he died on the way. However, locals claim that no one can say whether it was a road accident or a murder. Because several tree branches are protected by the roadside in the area where the accident occurred.

Sylhet-Tamabil Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Habibur Rahman confirmed the truth of this matter to The Daily Morning Sun. He said that the cause of the accident is being investigated.
