A meeting of the municipal BNP convening committee was held in Srimangal, Moulvibazar.
The meeting was held on Thursday (January 30) at the Rotary Club Hall on College Road in Srimangal town.
Former MP from Moulvibazar 3 and member of the district BNP convening committee M Naser Rahman was present as the chief guest at the meeting. Alhaj Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury (Hazi Mujib), member of the central BNP executive committee, was present as the special guest at the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by former Srimangal Upazila BNP president Nurul Alam Siddiqui and was attended by senior members of the Moulvibazar District BNP convening committee Moazzem Hossain Matuk, Abdul Mukit, Bakshi Misbaur Rahman, former Srimangal Upazila BNP general secretary Taj Uddin Taju, joint convener of the municipal BNP Rashedul Hasan, BNP leader M Idris Ali and others.
In his speech, the chief guest said that he instructed to form upazila and municipal union committees within a specified time limit and bring out the right leadership through a conference. Those who were victims of torture and cases during the fascist Hasina regime in the past should get priority in the committee. He instructed the leaders and activists to ensure that no one who has worked as an ally of the Awami League gets a place in any committee.
