The mysterious death of a man named Abdul Qadir (40) was reported while illegally bringing sugar from India through Kanighat Surighat border area of ​​Sylhet.

Kanighat Thana Police recovered the body of Abdul Qadeer from a house of Sonatanpunji government shelter on the border on Saturday (August 24) at 12 noon and sent it to COMEK Hospital for post-mortem examination.

It is known that around 2 pm last Friday, son of Ayub Ali of Baraband 2nd Block village of Kanighat Lakshiprasad West Union, Abdul Qadir, a resident of a house in Sonatanpunji government shelter on the border, along with his son, entered India illegally to bring sugar. Abdul Qadir died mysteriously on a hill near Pillar No. 1313 in the border area while returning to Bangladesh with sugar. Around 8:00 PM, Abdul Qadeer’s body was recovered from Pillar No. 1313 by local Abdul Aziz and delivered to his family members at the government shelter project.

Regarding the mysterious death of Jamal Uddin Abdul Qadir, the teenage son of deceased Abdul Qadir told him that on Friday afternoon, father and son went to India to bring sugar. While returning suddenly his father fell ill. At that time he vomited and said that his father had died.

However, about the death of Abdul Qadi, his father Ayub Ali said that he does not know how his son died while bringing sugar to India. However, he and his family suspect that Abdul Qadir may have been killed. Abdul Qadeer’s family claimed that his head had lacerations.

When the matter was informed by his family to the police station, the police recovered the body of Abdul Qadir from the shelter project house at 12 noon on Saturday and brought it to the police station after making a surathal report. Later sent to Siomek Hospital for autopsy.

In this regard, the second officer of the police station SI Sohail Mahmud said that the exact information of how Abdul Qadir died is not yet available. It will be known after receiving the post-mortem report that it was natural death and not murder.
