A police ASI was killed in a drum truck accident in Muktagachha, Mymensingh. The accident occurred on Saturday in an area called Satrasiya in Muktagachha on the Mymensingh-Tangail highway.
The deceased ASI has been identified as Md. Rustam Ali (40). He was working at Muktagachha Police Station. His home is in Kalikachch village of Sarail upazila in Brahmanbaria.
Muktagachha Police Station OC Md. Kamal Hossain said that ASI Rustam Ali was returning from the Mantala area of Kumargata Union of the upazila on a motorcycle on Saturday afternoon. When he reached Satrasiya area on the way, a drum truck coming from the opposite direction ran over him and he was seriously injured. Later, he was rescued and taken first to Muktagachha Upazila Health Complex and later to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He died there while undergoing treatment around 7 pm.
