A winter clothes distribution event was held in Jaintapur, Sylhet, funded by Alhaj Abdul Haque, a UK expatriate and Pacific Club of Bangladesh advisor and BNP nomination hopeful for Sylhet-4 constituency in the upcoming national elections, and organized by the Pacific Club of Bangladesh Jaintapur branch.
On Sunday (February 16), at 3:30 pm, at the Haripur Bazar bus stand in the upazila, under the chairmanship of Tariqul Islam, President of the Pacific Club of Bangladesh Jaintapur Upazila Branch, and under the direction of Organizing Secretary M. Shahid Ali Shahid, Alhaj Md. Abdul Haque, a UK expatriate and BNP nomination hopeful for Sylhet-4 constituency in the upcoming elections, was present as the chief guest.
In his speech as the chief guest, Alhaj Md. Abdul Haque said, “My soul is connected with the people of Jaintapur. I always want to work for the welfare of the people of Jaintapur.” He said, “Even after living in the UK for a long time, I have always tried to be by the side of the people of Jaintapur as an advisor to the Pacific Club of Bangladesh in times of disaster or at various festivals, which will continue in the near future.”
At that time, he distributed winter blankets to 300 people coming from different areas of the upazila and sought prayers for every member of the Pacific Club of Bangladesh. So that the Pacific Club of Bangladesh can continue such humanitarian activities in the future.
After the welcoming speech of the Senior Vice President of the Pacific Club of Bangladesh Central Branch and the President of the Sylhet District Branch, Harunur Rashid Harun, the President of the Pacific Club of Bangladesh Central Branch, delivered the keynote address.
Present as special guests were former president of Jaintapur Upazila BNP and former chairman of Fatehpur Union Parishad No. 5 Abdul Matin, vice-president of the central branch of the Pacific Club Sohel Rana, vice-president of the district branch Ilias Ali Saju Member, hospitality secretary Ala Uddin, deputy sports secretary Tarek Ahmed, general secretary of the Sylhet Metropolitan branch Shamsul Alam, among others.
Also speaking were Shaykhul Hadith Maulana Ahmed Ali (D.A.B.), Vice President of the Central Branch of the Pacific Club of Bangladesh Shamim Ahmed, Senior Vice President of the District Branch Advocate Atiq Ahmed, Deputy General Secretary and Journalist Md. Abdullah, Organizing Secretary of the 5th Fatepur Union Branch of the Pacific Club of Bangladesh Abdullah Masud, Member Secretary of the 5th Fatepur Union Volunteers Jahangir Alam, Student Leader Sayel Ahmed, and others.
