Sylhet Metropolitan BNP Acting President and former CCIC Panel Mayor Rezaul Hasan Kayes Lodi said, “An unusual situation prevails in the country. The price of goods is still rising. The law and order situation in the country has deteriorated severely. The country will return to normal only if the country’s governance system is handed over to an elected government through the National Assembly elections as soon as possible. The interim government is wasting time talking about reforms, it is important to hold early elections to protect the quality of life of the people of the country.”

He said, “Martyr President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia enacted strict laws on rape in the country during their rule. If BNP comes to power in the future, they will make stricter laws against rapists and implement them. Effective arrangements will be made to deliver the verdict in the rape case as soon as possible.’
