A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a passenger bus in Dirai upazila of Sunamganj district.
The accident occurred in front of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Station of Sujanagar village on the Madanpur-Dirai road in the upazila on Friday (March 21).
The deceased has been identified as Tofiqur Rahman (27), son of Faizur Rahman of Kandahati village in Rafinagar union of Dirai upazila.
It is learnt that the motorcyclist was hit head-on by a bus at around 3 pm on Friday. He was seriously injured. Later, he was rescued and taken to Dirai Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Dirai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Abdur Razzak confirmed the truth of the matter. He said that the body has been sent to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
