A grand Iftar and Doa Mahfil was organized by VP Mizanur Rahman Mizan, former general secretary of Moulvibazar district BNP, chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad and current member of the district BNP convening committee, for the health of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the long life of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The Iftar Mahfil was held at Moulvibazar Government High School grounds on Wednesday.

Under the chairmanship of VP Mizanur Rahman and moderated by Abul Kalam Belal, member of the district BNP convening committee, former MP Begum Khaleda Rabbani, BNP National Executive Committee member Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury, Moulvibazar District BNP convener Advocate Faizul Karim Mayun, District President of Gana Adhikar Apu Raihan, General Secretary of Khelafat Majlis Muhibur Rahman, member of the district BNP convening committee, Monowar Ahmed Rahman, member of the central executive council of Khelafat Majlis Maulana Ahmed Bilal, Ala Uddin Shah of Jamaat-e-Islami, members of the district BNP convening committee, Mosharraf Hossain Badsha, Muhitur Rahman Helal, Matin Box, Swagat Kishore Das Chowdhury and District Chhatra Dal President Md. Rubel Mia spoke.

After almost 17 years, VP Mizan organized this Iftar Mahfil under the open sky with thousands of party leaders and activists. In the past years, under the leadership of VP Mizan, party leaders and activists ignored the attacks and police persecution of Awami League party leaders and activists and carried out all the programs announced by BNP on the streets. As a result, many BNP leaders and activists, including VP Mizan, had to go to jail on false charges.

BNP leaders and activists who came to the Iftar Mahfil said that after a long time, the Iftar Mahfil has become a gathering place as leaders and activists from all over the district have come to organize such a large-scale Iftar Mahfil. As a result, they said that they are very happy to see everyone.

Before the Iftar Mahfil, Maulana Akil Uddin, Imam of Town Dewani Jame Mosque, offered a special prayer for the well-being of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, as well as for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, the country and the nation.
