A worker died in a landslide in South Surma, Sylhet. The incident occurred on Tuesday (April 8) morning in Mohammadpur Paschim Para of Silam Union of the upazila.
The deceased worker is Sumon Ahmed (30), son of Rajab Ali of Rustampur Tilapara of Silam Union.
Police said that while cutting the soil of a mound in Mohammadpur Paschim Para on Tuesday morning and loading it into a vehicle, a nearby mound collapsed and buried Suman. At that time, locals rescued him and took him to the hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Moglabazar Police Station Khandaker Mostafizur Rahman said that an accidental death case has been filed in this regard.
