A driver named Mizan (25) died after a Mahindra tractor overturned in Tahirpur, Sunamganj. The deceased Mizan is the son of Abdul Karim of Puranghat village in Uttar Barodal union of the upazila.

The incident took place in front of the ISKCON temple at around 9:30 am today, Thursday (April 17).

It is learned that on Thursday morning, Mizan fell into the Jadukata river with the tractor to carry cement for the bridge built on the Maharam river. On his way back from the river bank after loading additional cement, he lost control while climbing up from the bottom in front of the ISKCON temple and the tractor overturned and fell down. Mizan died on the spot.

Sources said that a contracting company named Hamim International Company Limited is constructing a bridge on the Maharam river. Mizan worked as a contract driver in this company.

In this regard, Tahirpur Police Station Inspector Pankaj Das said, “The police have recovered the body of the deceased. It now depends on the family whether an autopsy will be conducted on the deceased or not.”
