The monthly meeting of the law and order committee was held at the Jaintapur Upazila administration in Sylhet.

The meeting was held at 11 am on Thursday (April 24) at the Jaintapur Upazila Parishad auditorium. It was presided over by Jaintapur Upazila Executive Officer George Mitra Chakma.

A report was presented at the meeting on the overall law and order situation in the upazila for the past one month. During this, the officer-in-charge of Jaintapur Model Police Station discussed in detail various cases related to the trial, theft, extortion, drugs, and smuggling prevention in March and the arrested accused.

The meeting discussed various issues including increasing public awareness to stay safe from lightning in recent adverse weather conditions, stopping parking at various places to reduce traffic congestion on highways and upazila outpost roads, taking effective steps to control drugs and stop smuggling, and controlling smuggling.

During the meeting, various issues including necessary preparations to deal with possible floods caused by mountain landslides in the upcoming monsoon season were discussed.
