A cake cutting and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the Housing Estate Youth Association of Sylhet city.

On Saturday (May 10) afternoon, Housing Estate Youth Association President Omar Mahbub presided over the discussion meeting at the association’s hall in the city’s housing estate area.

Assistant Director of the Department of Youth Development, Sylhet, Aminuzzaman Chowdhury, spoke as the chief guest at the meeting.

In his speech, Housing Estate Youth Association President Omar Mahbub said that society moves forward on the shoulders of the young people. The youth are the most energetic and hardworking members of the society. The young people have to play a leading role in taking this developing country forward. We have to come out of the net world and walk in real life.

The event, which was hosted by Salauddin Saker, General Secretary of Housing Estate Youth Association, was addressed by – Former Mayor of Buckingham and Dagenham, UK, Faruk Chowdhury, prominent businessman and social worker Chammak Reza Takim, social worker and politician Sadrul Amin Chowdhury Shakil, prominent businessman Tuhin Ahmed Qutub, prominent businessman Afzal Hossain Chowdhury. Present were – Ehsanul Majid Sunny, Faizul Islam Jamil, Imran Gazi, Md. Suhel Mia, Zahid Hasan Pabel, Nazmul Islam Towhid, Makin Ahmed, Alvi Ahmed Chowdhury, Saiful Islam, Kallol, Zahid, Tutul Deb, Ahbab Hossain, Adnan Ahmed Sufi, Maruf Hossain, Fardin Ahmed, Riaz Ahmed, Mainul Sadman, Ruhit, Zakir and others.

At the beginning of the program, Hafiz Md. Ansar Ahmed recited from the Holy Quran. At the end of the discussion, the guests and the leaders of the association cut the anniversary cake.
